Fall Leadership Workshops
Each fall TASC hosts six Leadership Workshops across the
state. There are three middle level workshops and three high
school level workshops. One workshop for each age level is
hosted in each of the three geographic areas of the state:
East, Middle, and West. Registration information will be
mailed out at least six weeks prior to each workshop. If you
have questions about a specific workshop, please contact the
appropriate Area Rep or his/her advisor. Contact information
is listed in the Organization section of this website.
Advisors’ Workshop
A workshop for student council advisors is hosted annually.
This workshop features an opportunity for advisors from
across the state of Tennessee to meet together, network,
learn about new ideas and share information. The traditional
date of the workshop is the second weekend in November.
State Convention
TASC’s annual state convention is held each spring. This
event is planned and hosted by the school whose students are
elected to the position of Secretary-Host. The event is
normally a two and one-half day event. Approximately 700-800
student and adult delegates attend each year.
The state convention for 2007-2008 will be held in Halls, Tennessee, hosted by Halls High School. The dates for the convention are March 27-29, 2008. The convention theme is “Sowing the Seeds of Leadership.” Convention info will be mailed to member schools in December.
Officers’ Workshop
Each summer an overnight workshop is held for student body
presidents and one other officer from each school across the
state. At this workshop leaders learn techniques for
carrying out the responsibilities of the office that they
hold. The workshop is held on Sunday-Monday prior to the
beginning of Leadership Camp; typically, this is the third
Sunday of July. The site of the workshop is th Ridley 4-H
Center in Columbia, Tennessee.
Leadership Camp
TASC’s Leadership camp is typically held during the third
week of July at the Ridley 4-H Center in Columbia,
Tennessee. At this five-day camp student leaders from across
the state come together to discover and develop their
leadership skills. Students are assigned to councils and
these groups plan and carry out numerous activities and
projects throughout the fun-filled week.
